You’re Missing Out: An Open Letter To Go To Penn State Women’s Hockey Games – Onward State

During every Penn State men’s Hockey game, we pack the stands at Pegula, yet the same can’t be said for Penn State women’s Hockey. At each game I’ve attended, I’ve found the student section sparse and the energy low, but the women’s team continues to be electric. They’re ranked, undefeated, and deserve the same crowd. Don’t miss out and go to women’s hockey games.
Having had high expectations for Penn State football this season, I’ve found myself feeling down lately. Women’s hockey tickets are free, and spending the afternoon with friends at Pegula supporting the team raised my spirits.
They are undefeated so far and ranked No. 6. With the team being 12-0, this is not just a good start; it’s the best start in program history. You have the chance to witness history in the making.
Forward Tessa Janecke is a member of the United States national team who scored the golden goal for them last year. She’s currently Penn State women’s hockey’s leading career goal scorer. Why miss out on the opportunity to watch her play?
At women’s games, you can make friends, learn the chants with the Roar Zone, and have a better chance of getting candy from Doc Savage.
If the game’s a doubleheader, you can get priority seating at the men’s game afterwards. If it’s not a doubleheader, there’s sometimes a free public skate with the women’s team after the game, where you can meet the players and skate on the main rink at Pegula.
Pegula is hosting the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four this year. Why not support our team all the way to the Frozen Four with the possibility of them playing on home ice?
Bring a friend, get a hot chocolate, and cheer on our back-to-back-to-back conference champions. With that said, I hope to see you all at Pegula on November 14 at 6 p.m. to cheer on our women’s team as they take on Syracuse.
