The 2024 World Juniors are officially underway from Gothenburg, Sweden.
The annual IIHF tournament is a chance for the best U20 prospects from around the globe to compete on what is very likely the biggest stage of their young playing careers. In addition, it’s an opportunity to bring a gold medal to their home country.
In the group stage, the clubs are split into two groups of five, competing in four round-robin games before the top eight teams advance to the knockout stage. From overtime thrillers to stunning upsets, the preliminary round never disappoints, and the 2024 edition of the event should be no different.
