With a 7-4 win over the Lightning, the Jets improved to 51-19-4 this season. Winnipeg covered the puck line as -1.5 goal favorites, and the total of 11 goals easily surpassed the pre-game line of 6.5 goals.
The Jets fell behind 2-0 early but rallied with seven different players finding the net. Winnipeg took the lead for good with 4:03 left in the third period, and they added two empty-net goals to seal the victory.
Winnipeg’s offense was firing on all cylinders in their 7-4 win over Tampa Bay, with all seven goals coming from different players. Vladislav Namestnikov opened the scoring for the Jets, while Logan Stanley notched his first goal of the season. Mark Scheifele added his 8th goal, and Alex Iafallo scored his first, which came on a power play in the third period.
Nikolaj Ehlers picked up his 9th goal, finding the net on an empty net with just 2:45 left in the game. Cole Perfetti followed with another empty-netter, his 4th goal of the season. Winnipeg fired 34 shots on goal and recorded 10 assists, with Josh Morrissey earning his 13th assist on Perfetti’s late goal.
Defensively, the Jets will look to improve after allowing the first two goals and another in the 3rd. Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves with an 86.7% save percentage. The Jets’ defense finished with 5 takeaways and 31 hits.
The Kings fell to 41-23-9 after a 4-3 loss to the Blackhawks. Leading 3-2, the Kings allowed a goal with just 31 seconds left in regulation. Los Angeles was favored on the puck line, and the total of 7 goals surpassed the pre-game line of 6.
Los Angeles held a 2-0 lead going into the third period, but gave up three goals in the final frame. Alex Laferriere scored twice for the Kings, who had six assists and 40 shots on goal in the loss.
Alex Laferriere netted his 7th and 8th goals of the season, with his first coming on a power play at 16:03 in the 1st period. Phillip Danault added his 1st goal of the season at 8:12 in the 3rd period. Danault also picked up his 4th assist on Laferriere’s 2nd goal.
The Kings fired 40 shots on goal, with 13 giveaways. They scored once in each period, with Laferriere’s second goal coming at 1:23 in the 2nd period.
Defensively, the Kings will be looking to bounce back after giving up three late goals to the Blackhawks in their previous game. They had a 3-2 lead with 11:48 left in the 3rd period but allowed a game-tying goal at the 19:29 mark. Goalie Darcy Kuemper made 18 saves, finishing with a save percentage of 85.7%.
When making a moneyline pick, my choice is the Kings to come out with a win against the Jets while playing at home. Considering the moneyline odds at -121, I’m placing my bet on the Kings to win outright.
For a puck line pick, we are going with the Kings to win and cover. Look for the Kings to win this one by multiple goals over the Jets.
