Twoo teams wrap up their home-and-home on Monday night in Denver, as the Detroit Red Wings get set to run it back against the Colorado Avalanche.
These two teams met this past Saturday afternoon in Detroit, with the Avalanche putting the boots to the Red Wings, coming away with a 5-0 win.
At one point, Colorado and Detroit used to be the fiercest of rivals. Now, with the teams in different conferences, the animosity has subsided, but the level of play is always high, especially with the level of talent both teams have.
The Red Wings are certainly a much better team than in years past. With the development of young talent complementing players like Alex DeBrincat, captain Dylan Larkin, and Patrick Kane, along with the team receiving quality goaltending, Detroit is up there with the best in the NHL.
The Avs have been one of the best teams from the get-go this season. While the results have not been as consistent as they were in the opening months of the campaign, Colorado is still the frontrunner of the NHL.
