Rangers vs. Blackhawks: The matchup
The Rangers rank among the winningest road teams in the NHL this season with a 12-4-1 mark away from home and a 15-12-4 record overall. The road environment could be a welcome sight for New York after suffering back-to-back losses to the Vegas Golden Knights (3-2) and Colorado Avalanche (3-2) at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers are seventh of eight teams in the loaded Metropolitan Division and own the 10th-best overall record in the East.
The Blackhawks are also losers of each of their past two games, and they are 2-6-2 over their past 10. Chicago comes off a four-game Western Conference road swing that ended with setbacks to the Anaheim Ducks (7-1) and Los Angeles Kings (6-0) they lost by a 13-1 combined score. Chicago is in 10th position in the West with a 12-11-6 record and 30 points.
