The in-state foes will play two games, with Friday’s contest occurring in Ann Arbor and Saturday’s taking place in East Lansing.
The Spartans (28 points) sit atop the Big Ten and also hold the No. 1 spot in the USCHO Division I Poll, receiving 48 of 50 first-place votes. Junior Isaac Howard leads the team in goals (18) and points (33), and is just two games removed from a four-goal performance against Penn State.

The Wolverines (18 points) are looking to make up further ground in Big Ten play; they come into the weekend ranked 10th nationally. Junior T.J. Hughes leads the team in points (20), and has secured at least one point in five consecutive games.
Last year, Michigan State swept Michigan in four regular-season matchups, only for the Wolverines to pull off a redemption arc: They eliminated the Spartans in the NCAA Tournament to clinch a spot in the Frozen Four.

The first game of the two-game set will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 17 from Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The following night, the two teams will traverse I-96 and battle at Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich., with puck drop set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
