Canada will look to continue its fast start at the 2025 IIHF World Championship on Sunday morning, as it readies for its second matchup against Latvia.
The Canadians rolled to a 4-0 victory against Slovenia to open up preliminary round action on Saturday. Bo Horvat scored twice, while Nathan MacKinnon tallied a goal and two assists; in the net, Dylan Garand made 11 saves with ease.
It certainly marked an auspicious start for Team Canada, looking to avenge a fourth-place finish at the 2024 World Championship. Canada had medaled in each of the previous four tournaments, winning gold in 2021 and 2023.
