Two of the best hockey programs in the US will converge in Boston on Friday, when the No. 9-ranked Boston College Eagles host the seventh-ranked Denver Pioneers at Conte Forum. Both teams have started the season 2-1-1, and both will be hungry for a big victory against a fierce rival.
This Chestnut Hill face-off serves as a rematch from the 2025 NCAA regional final, which saw Denver defeat BC 3-1. The Pioneers also beat the Eagles in the 2024 national championship game, so the Boston faithful should provide quite the raucous atmosphere for this one.

The Eagles have looked sharp over their past few games. Since dropping their season opener 4-3 to No. 6 Quinnipiac on home ice, they have yet to lose another game. They beat No. 12 Minnesota 3-1, then tied the Gophers 2-2. Most recently, they crushed the RPI Engineers 5-1 last Friday night.
The Pioneers, meanwhile, come off a weekend in which they split their series at Lindenwood. They lost 4-3 to the Lions in the Friday opener, then bounced back nicely with a 4-0 win on Saturday. As a result of the chop, DU slid two spots in the polls from No. 5 to No. 7.
