It’s another 4 Nations Face-Off doubleheader as the tournament heads from Montreal to Boston with the final three games taking place at TD Garden, home of the Bruins.
The action gets started with Canada vs. Finland this afternoon followed by USA hosting Sweden in the final game of the round robin.
The final spot is still up for grabs in the championship game on Thursday after the United States clinched their spot with a 3-1 win over Canada on Saturday night.
The victory snapped USA’s 17-game losing streak against its north-of-the-border rivals in best-on-best competition for the first time in 15 years, dating back to the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Here’s everything you need to know on how to watch Canada vs. Finland, clinching scenarios for the final three teams and more from this best-on-best tournament getting underway this afternoon.

Following three fights in the first nine minutes and Oilers’ forward and three-time Hart Trophy winner Connor McDavid opening the scoring less than six minutes in to the game, it look as if Canada would cruise to another victory over the U.S. in international play.
However, the United States responded with the tying goal roughly five minutes later and added two more to pull off the upset in Montreal.
After putting up only one goal against the USA, I’m expecting a huge bounce back spot here offensively for Canada with so much on the line against a Finland team that’s surrendered at least three goals in both games and nine goals in the tournament.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Finland is able to keep this one close throughout, but ultimately the offensive firepower of Canada is too much as they move on to a highly anticipated finals matchup against the United States on Thursday.
Prediction: Canada 6, Finland 3
*USA: 6 points (2-0-0-0)
Canada: 2 points (0-1-0-1)
Finland: 2 points (0-1-0-1)
Sweden: 2 point (0-0-2-0)
*Already clinched spot in Thursday’s championship game
Each country will play one game against the other three countries during the round robin stage. Teams will earn three points for a regulation win, two points for an overtime/shootout win and one point for if they lose in the overtime/shootout. The two teams with the best records will face off against one other in the championship game.
Games will be played under NHL rules, with the lone exception being that overtime will now feature 10 minutes of 3-on-3 sudden death throughout the round robin portion unlike the NHL’s five minutes. If it’s still tied after 10 minutes, the game will then go to a shootout. During the championship game, overtime is just as it is in NHL playoff overtime: 5-on-5 hockey for 20-minute periods with the next team that scores a goal wins the game.
