The match was scoreless through three quarters before both teams exchanged goals in the fourth quarter to send it to overtime.
Isabella Ganiel added a goal for Toms River South (3-8-1), while Elle Niehaus scored the lone goal for Holmdel (7-7).
Despite the loss, Holmdel outshot Toms River South 17-7.
