East Lansing — For the second time in as many years, the Michigan State hockey team will play an outdoor game when it faces off Saturday against Penn State in historic Beaver Stadium.
To players, it’s a treat to be able to play in such a special environment, and just to play outside. Like the good old days of their youth spent half-frozen playing out on the pond with friends — something there’s not much time for amid the day-to-day grind of a college hockey season.
