Eight boys hockey teams are just one win away from the state championship game.
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) state semifinals are Saturday, March 15, at the LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo.
All of the games will be broadcast on the NFHS Network.
Tickets are $12.
Two Section III teams will play on Saturday. Skaneateles faces Williamsville East at 9 a.m. in Division II and West Genesee takes on Pittsford at 2 p.m. in Division I.
Skaneateles (21-2) is looking for its new third-straight state title in Mitch Major’s final season as coach. The Lakers beat Franklin Academy, 10-2, in the regional final.
West Genesee (20-0-3) beat Orchard Park, 6-4, in its regional final. The team is led by goalie Luke Beck, who has a school-record 67 wins.
