Vladimir Putin plays ice hockey, scores five goals – World News – WION


Russian President Vladimir Putin was seen playing ice hockey on Thursday in Sochi. The Russian President made anappearance at the seventh Russian National Amateur Ice Hockey Teams' Festival.
Putin was seen interacting with ice hockey players and later played a game with a team of retired hockey legends. He even managed to score five goals.
The Russian President, acting defence minister Sergei Shoigu and top Russian officials, along with a line-up of retired Russian hockey legends, played against the winner of the festival.
That honour went to Leningrad region amateur team "Flagman" who were beaten 12-7. The team also won a grant to build a new ice hockey arena along with the "Krutov" trophy.
The event was held in the Sochi's Bolshoy Ice Dome.The Night Hockey League was Putin's brainchild which was started in the year 2011 with an aimto promote ice hockey in Russia.
