Vegas to host Hockey Fights Cancer Knight as they take on the New York Rangers on Tuesday
The Vegas Golden Knights (8-4-6) fell to the Minnesota Wild (9-7-4), 3-2, in overtime on Sunday at Grand Casino Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Minnesota jumped out to an early lead after Joel Eriksson Ek found the net five minutes in off a feed from Mats Zuccarello. With five minutes left in the first period, Pavel Dorofeyev scored his seventh power-play goal of the season to even the score. Mitch Marner created the chance on the man advantage after firing a shot that Dorofeyev cleaned up on the rebound. The Wild regained the lead midway through the second period when Yakov Trenin scored his first goal of the season. Vegas battled back in the final period, tying the game with their second power-play tally of the game 6:35 into the frame as Reilly Smith beat Filip Gustavsson to make it 2-2 to force overtime. In the final minute of the extra frame, Minnesota earned a power play and Kirill Kaprizov capitalized, scoring the game-winner with ten seconds left to give the Wild a 3-2 win.
