The Utah Hockey Club (30-26-11) look to continue their playoff push when they visit the surging Edmonton Oilers (39-24-4) on Tuesday night. The puck drops at 9:00 PM ET on ESPN with both teams coming off impressive road victories.
Edmonton returns home after closing out their Eastern swing with back-to-back wins, while Utah enters fresh off a 3-1 road victory over Vancouver. The NHL betting odds have the Oilers laying -155 as home favorites, with Utah at +150 on the moneyline. The total sits at 6 goals.

The Oilers have flat-out owned this matchup, taking both meetings this season, including a dominant 4-1 win at Rogers Place. That’s no surprise when you look at the offensive firepower – Edmonton ranks 9th in scoring (3.19 goals per game) while Utah sits 21st (2.82).
The special teams battle heavily favors the home side. Edmonton’s power play has been lethal all season, clicking at 26.1% (5th in NHL). They’ll get to feast on a Utah penalty kill that’s been a mess, ranking 22nd at 76.5%. The Oilers are an incredible 25-2-0 when lighting the lamp four times, which they’ve done in both games against Utah this year.
Karel Vejmelka gets the nod in goal for his 11th straight start. While he’s been rock solid overall with a 2.45 GAA and .909 save percentage, the Oilers are his kryptonite. He’s posted only one win, with an ugly 4.50 GAA and .875 save percentage in five all-time matchups. At the other end, Stuart Skinner has Utah’s number, going 4-0 with a stingy 2.25 GAA in four career meetings.
The home/road splits tell the story too. Edmonton is a powerhouse 20-11-2 at Rogers Place, while Utah sits at a decent but unspectacular 17-13-4 in enemy territory. History isn’t on the visitors’ side either – the Oilers have taken five of six from Utah/Arizona in Alberta.
This is an Edmonton squad hitting their stride at the perfect time. They’ve won four of six overall while tightening up defensively, allowing just 2.9 goals per game over their last 10. That’s bad news for a Utah team that struggles to score. Grab the Oil on the puck line at a generous +150 price.

Draisaitl has been an absolute machine lately, racking up 14 points during an 18-game heater dating back to January 27. He’s factored in on six of Edmonton’s last nine goals and shows no signs of slowing down with seven tallies and eight helpers in his last 10.

The Over looks juicy too, considering these teams’ track record. They’ve combined for 7+ goals in eight of their last 10 meetings, while four of Edmonton’s last five home games have all soared over the total. With Utah desperate for points and Edmonton’s offense humming, expect fireworks.
The Oilers are solid home favorites at -155 on the moneyline, with Utah coming back at +130. Edmonton is +150 to cover the -1.5 puck line, while Utah is -180 to keep it within a goal or win outright.
The total sits at 6 goals, with the Over at -120 and the Under at +100. The juice on the Over suggests oddsmakers envision this as a high-scoring game. That’s no surprise as both previous meetings this season saw Edmonton score four goals.
