Utah Hockey Club might have just leaked its own official name in quite an unlikely place.
Tuesday night, eagle-eyed hockey fans noticed Utah Hockey Club’s official YouTube channel changed its handle to … Utah Mammoth! Mammoth was one of the potential names for the team’s official branding up for a vote — and one of our favorites from the list — that will replace the temporary name of Utah Hockey Club ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The handle on the channel was live for a few hours before being pulled on Wednesday morning. The “Utah Mammoth” YouTube channel link now redirects to a blank channel with no videos.
According to ESPN, Utah Hockey Club officials wouldn’t confirm the potential leak, but it doesn’t seem likely this was a bug on YouTube’s end or a random occurrence. Given the handle has since changed back, it was probably accidentally pushed live while testing on the back end. But, who knows! We’ll have to wait and see if Utah Mammoth gets revealed as the team’s official name ahead of next hockey season.
