The Utah Hockey Club are on the road to play the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 9 p.m. EST.
Utah (16-14-6) is coming off a 5-2 loss to Seattle on Monday. Edmonton (21-12-3) is coming off a 5-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.
Utah is on a four-game losing streak and set to play the second half of a back-to-back. The Hockey Club are led by Clayton Keller who has 37 points, Logan Cooley has 32 points, Dylan Guenther has 32 points and Nick Schmaltz has 29 points.
The Hockey Club will start Jaxson Stauber who’s 2-0-1 with a 1.96 GAA and a .928 SV%.
Edmonton, meanwhile, is on a two-game losing streak. The Oilers are set to start Stuart Skinner who’s 13-8-3 with a 2.89 GAA and a .894 SV%.
The Oilers are led by Leon Draisaitl who has 55 points, Connor McDavid has 52 points, Evan Bouchard has 27 points and Zach Hyman has 21 points.
The Hockey Club are a +180 underdog, while Edmonton is a -218 favorite, with the over/under set at 6.5 goals.
Utah is struggling as of late and now has to play the second half of a back-to-back which is always tough. Edmonton, meanwhile, has struggled, however, this is a good spot for the Oilers to get back on track.
Utah is starting Stauber from the AHL due to the injury to Connor Ingram. The Oilers should be able to score on him, while Skinner is starting to play much better, while Utah’s offense has also been an issue as of late.
Prediction: Oilers 4, Utah 2.
