As usual, there are plenty of fun events on the schedule for the Fox Valley.
Tickets are on sale now for the 91st season performance of the Appleton MacDowell Male Chorus. This year, Janet Planet will join the chorus on stage. There also are fundraisers for local nonprofits you can support, with the Beaming Inc. Day at the Derby taking place this week, as well as the Guns N’ Hoses hockey game that will see the Appleton police and fire departments face off in a hockey game.
Also coming up are the Fox Heritage Run in Kaukauna and a Daddy Daughter Dance at The Crystal Ballroom in Hilbert.
Janet Planet will join the Appleton MacDowell Male Chorus for its 91st Anniversary Season performance.
Concerts are scheduled for 7 p.m. May 3 at Xavier Fine Arts Theatre, 1600 W. Prospect Ave., Appleton; and 2 p.m. May 4 at the Lawrence University Memorial Chapel, 510 E. College Ave., Appleton.

The MacDowell Chorus is comprised of men from northeast Wisconsin who enjoy singing and fellowship. During its 91 years, more than 874 men have been members of the chorus.
New members are always welcome and those interested in learning more are invited to stop by rehearsals, which are held 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays, September through April, with a holiday break. For more information, email join@macdowellchorus.com.
Beaming Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides equine-assisted services, will hold its annual “Day at the Derby” fundraiser May 3. The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the new Beaming Ranch at 2692 County GG, Neenah.
The Kentucky Derby will be livestreamed during the events, so pick your favorite horse to win. There also will be soups and hors d’oeuvres served along with wine, beer and nonalcoholic beverages.
Beaming merchandise will be available for purchase and there will be photo ops and raffle prizes. Attendees also may compete for Best Derby Attire and Best Derby Hat.

The second annual Fox Heritage Run is set to take place 8 a.m. to noon May 3 in Kaukauna. 
The 8K run/walk route takes participants along the Fox River and the Nelson Family Heritage Crossing. The course starts in downtown Kaukauna, winds through the scenic trails of Heesakker Park, ending back in downtown Kaukauna.
Participants of all levels are welcome. There will be water stations, medical support and chip timing. Those who complete the race will receive a finisher medal and race swag.
Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female winners.
There also is a Kids Run option.

The Appleton Police Department and Appleton Fire Department will face off in a friendly hockey game called Guns N’ Hoses on May 3. The action begins at 6 p.m. at Community First Champion Center, 5000 W. Champion Drive, Appleton.
The teams are plaing for the Lungaard Love Foundation and Vaspire 316. 
The community is invited to come and cheer on their favorite team.
The Crystal Ballroom will host a Daddy Daughter Dance from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. May 3. Any significant male figure is welcome, from dads and grandpas to brothers and uncles.
The evening includes light fare, beverages and snacks. There also will be prizes and surprises.
