The University of Maine men's ice hockey team, ranked eighth in the nation, secured a decisive 7-0 victory against Hockey East rival Vermont at the Alfond Arena. In the first period, Sully Scholle scored to give the Bears a 1-0 lead. Vermont's Matteo Michels attempted a breakaway, but Albin Boija's defense maintained the lead. Jeremy Langlois extended Maine's advantage in the second period with a goal from the point, making it 2-0. The Bears continued their dominance, ultimately winning 7-0. The teams will face off again tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
