
FREMONT, NE – Again, Midland was just a little too much for Jamestown Jimmie ACHA Division 1 Women’s Hockey.
Ashlyn Kuffler scored a go-ahead power play goal in the third period Saturday as top-ranked Midland got by 11th-ranked Jamestown 2-1 at Sidner Ice Arena.
Kuffler scored with 8:03 remaining to keep Midland (25-3-1-3) unbeaten this season against Jamestown (8-15-1-1).
Callie Maguire gave Midland a 1-0 lead at 6:53 of the first period.
Jamestown’s Rebekah Nickisch scored from Maddison Andrew to tie the game at 7:54 of the second period.
Midland outshot Jamestown 31-20. Jimmies’ goalie Madelynne Sylvestre made 29 saves.
Jamestown will play Thursday in the Women’s Midwest Collegiate Hockey tournament in Fremont, Nebraska.
