The 2024-25 American Hockey League schedule announced Thursday has the Milwaukee Admirals playing a significant portion of the heart of their season on home ice at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
Other takeaways from the schedule include:
The Central Division champions begin with three games on the road against division opponents but also end their season with three at home against rivals.
The opener is Friday, Oct. 11, at Grand Rapids followed by games Oct. 12 at Chicago and Oct. 18 at Rockford. Then comes the previously announced home opener Oct. 19, the second night of a back-to-back set with the IceHogs.
An ambitious stretch of 16 games from Dec. 30 to Feb. 8 features 12 games at home.
Extending that span to the 10 weekends from Jan. 3 to March 8, the Admirals play 16 of the possible 20 Fridays and Saturdays with 14 of those at home. Although promotions have not been announced, those are typically prime options for the Admirals to schedule postgame concerts.
Milwaukee is scheduled to play the Cleveland Monsters four times after not playing the past two seasons. Cleveland pushed the eventual Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears to seven games in the Eastern Conference finals last month. Those games are Nov. 23-24 in Cleveland and Dec. 3 and 30 in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee plays the Charlotte Checkers for the first time since 2016-17, traveling for games Jan. 14-15 and then hosting Jan. 24-25.
With games Dec. 27 against Chicago and Dec. 30 against Cleveland, the Admirals bookend the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off college showcase at Fiserv Forum to give hockey fans four consecutive nights of activity in downtown Milwaukee between Christmas and New Years.
The Admirals reprise a trip to Henderson, Nevada, March 28-29. The team’s first games there were popular with snowbirds, transplants and Wisconsin-based fans who took the opportunity to visit suburban Las Vegas in January. The Admirals also host the Silver Knights on Feb. 21 and 22.
The Admirals are scheduled to host a pair of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday “school day” games, Dec. 13 vs. Manitoba and March 5 vs. Texas.
Although the Admirals face three weekends of travel as March turns into April, they do finish the regular season at home with games April 12 vs. Chicago, April 13 vs. Rockford and then April 18 with Chicago again.
