DOLNY KUBIN, Slovakia – The U.S. Women’s National Sled Hockey Team will take on Canada here today (Aug. 31) in the first-ever gold-medal game of the 2025 World Para Ice Hockey Championship at Winter Stadium.
Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. local time/1 p.m. ET, and the game will stream live on the Paralympics YouTube channel.
Team USA enters this contest with an unbeaten 3-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record. The U.S. defeated Great Britain 10-0 in the semifinals yesterday (Aug. 30). Kelsey DiClaudio (Plum, Pa.) and Madeleine Gallagher(Palm Bay, Fla.) each recorded two goals and an assist ion the victory. The U.S. also recorded wins over Australia and Norway in the preliminary round last week. Team USA has yet to allow a goal through three contests, outscoring its opponents 28-0.
Canada will also enter this historic contest with a 3-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record after taking down Norway, 7-0, yesterday in the semifinals.
Through three games, DiClaudio currently leads all skaters in the tournament in goals (7) and points (10), and Lera Doederlein (San Diego, Calif.) is tied for the tournament lead with five assists.
