TEAM USA and Canada have been hit with travel chaos after fighting it out for the gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
It was the American hockey side who took home the gold and ended 46 years of heartbreak at the Olympic Games.

American hero Jack Hughes won it in overtime to break Canadian hearts and secure their first gold medal since ‘The Miracle on Ice’ in 1980.
However, both teams’ journeys home have been significantly disrupted by a major snowstorm striking the Northeast.
Both Team USA and Canada were meant to fly back to New York City but that will no longer be the case.
Instead, they will be arriving into the rather warmer climate of Miami, Florida.

Florida Panthers reporter Jordan McPherson wrote on X, “Per the NBC broadcast, Team USA men’s hockey is flying back to Miami tomorrow instead of the New York City area due to snowstorms.
“I can only imagine what the Elbo Room (and LIV, etc) will look like Monday night…”
While there will be inevitable celebrations for Team USA as McPherson hinted at, players will have one eye on the NHL already.
The NHL season gets back underway on Wednesday after taking a break for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

That doesn’t mean that Team USA won’t be living their best lives when they arrive in Miami, either.
Star Team USA winger and Florida Panther Matthew Tkachuk has already been making plans for Elbo Room.
He commented under one of the iconic beach bar’s Instagram posts, “Karaoke soon?!! Courtesy of the red white and blue?”
Considering they’re the first team since 1980 to win an Olympic ice hockey gold medal, they should be rolling out the red carpet.
