The Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston Bruins, and the National Hockey League have unveiled the official logo for the Stadium Series outdoor game at Raymond James Stadium, scheduled for February 1, 2026. This will be the first time in league history that an outdoor game is played in a football stadium in Florida.
Here’s the official logo description from the NHL:

“The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series™ identity draws inspiration from swashbuckling history and culture in Tampa Bay. Additional elements featured in the logo include typography inspired by hand-drawn treasure maps. A hidden lightning bolt in the tattered sail atop the main mast serves as a subtle nod to the home team. The logo was developed by the NHL’s Creative Services Department and Fanbrandz.”

The Tampa Bay Lightning will join their cross-state rivals, the Florida Panthers, in hosting an outdoor game as part of the NHL’s 2025–26 Stadium Series. The Bolts will host the 2026 Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium, facing off against the Boston Bruins.
This won’t be the Lightning’s first outdoor appearance. The team played in the 2022 Stadium Series game against the Nashville Predators in Tennessee—and yes, the Bolts won.

Outdoor hockey in Tampa Bay

In recent years, Raymond James Stadium has transformed into a baseball field and even a golf course. Adding hockey to the lineup only strengthens Tampa’s reputation as a hub for major sports events. (Personally, I still daydream about my WrestleMania experience there.)
As the Lightning prepare to host, fans can expect a high-energy atmosphere filled with the electric buzz only an outdoor NHL game can deliver. This will be one of the biggest sports events of the year in Tampa.
The most recent Stadium Series games were held at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio (2025), and at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (2024). The inaugural game in 2014 took place at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles as part of the league’s effort to bring outdoor hockey to non-traditional venues. To date, more than 2.24 million fans have attended the NHL’s 43 regular-season outdoor games.
