The Seattle Kraken and Dallas Stars hit the ice for their second game in as many nights, with both coming off a Saturday win. Both are in the top three of their respective Western Conference divisions to show they can be a consistent threat in the early stages of the season, and this should be a tight battle in Dallas.
Dallas has been a consistently strong team in the NHL for the past number of years, always near the top of the league standings. That has continued this season, and while they are sitting strong in the Central Division, they still have lots more to give, with this game a great opportunity to start their first winning streak since October 28.

They are on home ice, and their opponent Seattle is playing in their second road game in as many nights. The opportunity is there for Dallas to have a strong start and never look back.
The Stars boast two players who are amongst the top of the NHL in performance this season. Mikko Rantanen and Wyatt Johnston have combined for 17 goals and 40 points in 15 games.
This is just the beginning of a deep Stars roster and Seattle just doesn’t have that same game-breaking ability, as most of their roster is far-below a point per game average.
These teams have accumulated similar points thus far, but the reality is these rosters are on completely different levels. A highly-explosive Stars team can dominate this one to win in regulation.
A key part to Dallas’ elite squad is 26-year-old forward Jason Robertson, who is currently third on the team in points with 13. This game against the Kraken could be a big night for the left winger.
While he has 13 points in 15 games, it has been a slow start for him in the goal department, as he has just three. This is unlike him, as he has scored 35+ goals in three of the past four seasons, which includes two 41+ goal seasons.
Robertson has shot the puck 61 times to be first on the team by 13 shots. The Kraken do not offer a ton of confidence on the defensive side and Dallas’ efforts will translate to lots of goals, with the usual goal-scoring threat Robertson joining in.
Seattle Kraken forward Eeli Tolvanen is coming off his best game of the season, with two goals and one assist in a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues.
A key factor in this success was that he was second on the team in shots with four. Before that game, Tolvanen was averaging 0.85 shots per game. It should be clear to him that the more involved offensively he is, the more successful he could be.
This game against Dallas is going to be a major challenge, one where Seattle could be down early and often. They could use another strong performance from him, and he should be looking to give one so is expected to fire the puck lots again.
