Look at the Dallas Stars; they got beaten by the Ducks last time out as a crazy -400 favorite, laying that puck line and odds. Hey, look, we’re back at it again with the Dallas Stars, laying puck line and odds at -1.5, -155. Expecting the Dallas Stars to whoop it up on the Sharks?
Well, when you look at things, the last three of the four meetings head-to-head have been one-goal games. It’s needed overtime and a couple of shootouts to boot. So, you just look at it and go, as I said in a previous video, long-term hockey betting: you do not lay puck line with odds like this. This is -1.5, -155. So, no, no, no, no, no. That’s not how you win at hockey.
I’ll tell you what’s going on in this one. San Jose Sharks: Blackwood’s getting the start for the Sharks in this one. Oettinger is getting the start for Dallas. Both these goalies are sub-two, sub-three goals against this season. Dallas is off their first loss to the Ducks, so, of course, they’re looking for a little bit of bounce-back, a little bit of payback.
What’s also been happening here in Dallas? Six and one to the under this season. So, low-scoring games here in Dallas all season long. San Jose Sharks are 10 and 8 to the under this season. They get involved in these low-scoring ones, and what happens is typically the first to three goals wins. Most likely, it’ll be 3-2, like we saw earlier this season in Dallas—a 3-2 win for the Stars, needing the shootout to get it done.
Look at what the Sharks do following a win. So far, the Sharks have covered the puck line in nine straight road games following a win. Sharks +1.5 at +130? Give me the Sharks on the puck line in this one on Wednesday.
