BOX ELDER, S.D. – The Rush may have been on the road this weekend, but there was still hockey being played in the area on Sunday, just not on the ice.
For the second time, the Rush and the YMCA put on a NHL STREET Hockey camp.

The clinic was open to kids aged 6-13, and featured coaching, skill stations and scrimmages at the Liberty Center YMCA in Box Elder.
Rush Community Relations Coordinator Lilyen McCarthy says the event is all about getting more area kids interested in the game.
“Overall, we have a smaller market in the ECHL, and we’re trying to grow the game of hockey here. We have great partnerships with our youth hockey teams and the YMCA, so bringing this out to Box Elder, closer to the base, closer to our Military Appreciation Night, is kind of the goal here.”
The YMCA of the Black Hills hopes to put on at least two more street hockey events later this year.
