RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Reno has an sled hockey team that’s part of the city’s growing adaptive program. There are 17 rostered players who compete in the Pacific District Conference with teams from Vegas, LA, San Diego, Seattle, Phoenix, Utah, etc.
KOLO 8′s Hana Altenburg spoke with April Wolfe, City of Reno Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and player on the sled hockey team, along with teammate, Austin Dunagan, about what this exhibition game means to them.
Now the team has been invited by the Tahoe Knight Monsters (TKM) for exhibition match. But right now, they need some help selling tickets in order to get them the opportunity to play that exhibition match at the Tahoe Knight Monsters’ arena. The match would happen on Saturday, March 8 at 4:30 p.m. – ahead of the actual TKM match. In order to host an exhibition game, the sled team needs to sell 100 tickets by Saturday, March 1 to secure their ice time. If they don’t sell 100 tickets, then they can’t have that exhibition.
