TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
The game’s ultimate turning point came from who else but the team’s leading scorer, sophomore Midfielder Marciano, who got the team on the board late in the first quarter. The scoring phenom could not cool down there, going on to notch two more goals in the second half to record her third hat-trick of the year.
FLASH MOMENTS
Defensive senior Emilee Myers also scored in today’s game, guiding the ball past the Chargers’ goalkeeper to give Saint Francis an early 3-0 lead in the second half. This brings her season totals to five goals and 12 points, good for fourth on the team.
The junior goaltender from King of Prussia, Pa, had herself yet another day to remember, saving all five shots that she faced to shut out her tenth team of the year, helping her tie Samantha Zeiders’ program record for most goalkeeper wins in a season set back in 2014.
FLASH NUGGETS
With today’s performance, Marciano becomes the second player in program history with 40 points in a season. Additionally, she moves into ninth place in career points (47), sixth in career goals (22), and is the second player in team history with three games of at least three goals.
Saint Francis received widespread support from all areas today, leading to five total goals this afternoon. Sophomore Cruz Cánepa’s 17th assist of the season not only breaks the single-season program record but also ranks her third in program history with 24 career assists. Defensive sophomore Josefina Sayal Aguirre also contributed significantly, posting a career-high two assists and marking the 39th instance in program history where a Red Flash player has made two assists in a game.
With today’s win, the 2025 Saint Francis squad’s 14 wins tie a program record for wins in a season, set in 2014 under coach Stacey Bean. Additionally, they are also the 4th team in NEC history to reach 8-0 (11-0, Quinnipiac, 2002, 8-0, Lock Haven, 2004, 8-0, Rider, 2009)… first since 2009
