The Toronto Maple Leafs are the reason for Justin Bieber missing the 2025 Met Gala.
The "Love Yourself" singer posted a carousel of pictures of his Monday night showing him watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers playoff game. The Canadian team made it to round two and en route to the finals to win the Stanley Cup. Justin is seen watching the game on a big screen, as he smiles at the screen and cheering on his team. He is wearing a pink zip-up jacket under a red jacket and sweat pants.
While Justin was busy watching his team face the Panthers, Hailey walked the 2025 Met Gala blue carpet with her best friend Kendall Jenner.
Justin's followers commented under his photo noticing that he skipped one of the biggest nights in fashion to watch a hockey game. One person wrote: "Tell me you’re Canadian without telling me: skip the Met to watch Hockey?!" Another person questioned: "U are not on the met gala??" A third commented: "Gotta pass on the Met for playoff hockey." A fourth wrote: "HAILEY AT THE MET..MEANWHILE JUSTIN [two laughing face emojis]."
Despite not being by his wife's side, Hailey attended the Met Gala in "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" theme. She wore a black Saint Laurent blazer minidress and styled her brown hair in loose waves.
Another gentleman that missed the event for a sporting playoff game was Timothée Chalamet. Many hoped that him and Kylie Jenner would make their red carpet debut but he confirmed that he stood behind to watch his favorite team, the New York Knicks, face the Boston Celtics for game 1 of the NBA East Conference playoffs.
The actor posted pictures on his Instagram Story watching the game on an iPad with friends. The game ended up going to overtime with Timothée on the edge of his seat, admitting: "s——g myself this game is insane."
While Timothée watches the Knicks play, Kylie walked the Met Gala blue carpet wearing a figure-hugging halter dress from Ferragamo that featured a sheer bodice and long skirt with a high slit.
