Devils have clinched a playoff spot!
Standings are current as of April 15, 11:00 PM ET.
NJD Magic Number is the number of New Jersey points gained combined with that team’s points lost from now until the end of the season that are required for that team to no longer be able to pass the Devils in the standings.
Projected Points are calculated as the total points each team would get if they played their remaining games with the same average winning percentage they’ve played at all season.
Regulation Wins is the first tiebreaker if a team is tied in points. Of the above teams, only the Rangers could still surpass the Devils in regulation wins giving the magic number one additional point.
GP – Games Played
W – Wins (worth two points)
L – Losses (worth zero points)
OT – OT/Shootout losses (worth one point)
PTS – Points
P% – Points Percentage
RW – Regulation Wins
ROW – Regulation plus Overtime Wins
x – Clinched Playoff spot
y – Clinched Division
p – Presidents’ Trophy
z – Clinched Conference
e – Eliminated from Playoff contention
If two or more clubs are tied in points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order:
NOTE: In standings a victory in a shootout counts as one goal for, while a shootout loss counts as one goal against.
