Penn State Hockey is ready to find more success today, riding on one of its most convincing wins of the season after taking down No. 4 Maine Hockey in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament.
The Nittany Lions entered the tournament at 20-13-4 overall, ready to face an uphill battle against 24-7-6 Maine. But after Maine scored the first goal of the match, Penn State Hockey would go on to shut out the Black Bears in the rest of the game, winning 5-1.
UConn Hockey secured a similar win in its first battle at an NCAA Tournament in program history, facing 24-11-2 Quinnipiac Hockey.
The Huskies entered the match at 22-11-4 overall, and would go on to keep a safe distance in between themselves and the Bobcats, winning 4-1.
