PENGUINS VS GOLDEN KNIGHTS PREDICTION, PICKS & ODDS FOR TONIGHT’S NHL GAME – Covers.com

Mark Stone has been serving up apples all year long, and he should find plenty of passing lanes vs. the pathetic Penguins on Friday night, per our NHL betting picks.
This article contains predictions for an old game!
No Shea Theodore, no problem. The Vegas Golden Knights have continued to chug along without their star defenseman, winning four of five games since losing him to injury.
My Penguins vs. Golden Knights predictions expect the good times to continue on home soil with captain Mark Stone leading the charge.
Let’s take a closer look with my NHL picks for Friday, March 7.
My best bet
Mark Stone Over 0.5 assists (-115 at DraftKings)
My analysis
Mark Stone is having the best playmaking season of his career. He has piled up 35 assists through 47 games, putting him on a 61-assist pace over 82 games. That would blow past his previous career high of 42, although that came in just 62 games.
Stone has gone a little cold of late, failing to record an apple in five straight games. His previous season-long drought was three games, so it seems likely his fortune will turn soon.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are one of the best opponents Stone could draw as he looks to get back in the assist column.
They have struggled mightily to keep the puck out all season long. Only the San Jose Sharks have allowed more goals, while the Philadelphia Flyers and Buffalo Sabres are the lone teams with lesser save percentages.
Even when the defense holds up, the Penguins simply can’t get saves. There’s no reason to expect that to change as the Penguins continue to ship bodies out at the deadline and pluck away at an already poor roster.
The Vegas Golden Knights are one of the most dominant home sides in the NHL, owning a 23-6-2 record and averaging well over 3.5 goals per game.
Led by Stone, their home success should continue against a vulnerable Penguins squad.

Mark Stone Over 0.5 assists

Pavel Dorofeyev Over 0.5 goals

Golden Knights moneyline
Pavel Dorofeyev has turned into quite the marksman, having scored a team-leading 24 goals on the season. He also leads the team in shots on goal at 5v5 and is a go-to shooter on Vegas’ lethal power play.
Dorofeyev has only scored in one of Vegas’ past five games and it just so happened to be in the lone matchup against a non-playoff team.
With lesser competition coming his way — and a team featuring poor goaltending at that — this is a great spot for a sniper like Dorofeyev to do some damage.
Pittsburgh has struggled mightily on the road. They’ve won 10 of 32 games this season and just four of their last 16.
There isn’t much reason to expect their fortunes to turn with the team more likely to get worse than better at the deadline.
