Panthers Are Still In Great Place Despite Game 4 Loss – The Hockey News

The Florida Panthers looked to sweep the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 4, but that did not come to fruition. The Panthers fell to the Hurricanes by a 3-0 final score in the matchup, so the series is not finished yet.
With the Panthers losing Game 4, they will now look to win the series back in Raleigh for Game 5. While the Panthers losing Game 4 naturally stung for the Atlantic Division club, they should remain optimistic. The Panthers remain in an excellent position, as they still have a 3-1 series lead over the Hurricanes in the series and have three more chances to knock out Carolina.
The Panthers also demonstrated during the first three games of this series that they have the ability to shut down the Hurricanes when playing at their best. The Panthers defeated the Hurricanes 5-2 in Game 1, 5-0 in Game 2, and 6-2 in Game 3. Thus, they certainly have shown that they have the ability to score against Carolina, and it will be fascinating to see if they can get their offense going again in Game 5.
Overall, while defeating the Hurricanes in Game 4 would have been excellent for the Panthers, they still are in a very good position heading into Game 5. It will be intriguing if the Panthers can pick up a victory in Game 5 and officially advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the third year in a row from here.
