EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada – A third overtime thriller has set up a fitting final stretch of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Edmonton Oilers host the Florida Panthers in Game 5 today – Saturday, June 14 – at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The matchup is available on multiple streaming services for free.
Today’s game will broadcast live on TNT, truTV and Sportsnet with the puck dropping at 8 p.m. Eastern (6 p.m. Mountain). Fans who have parted ways with their local cable provider can catch the action by utilizing streaming alternatives like FuboTV and DIRECTV, which both offer a free trial.

Leon Draisaitl’s heroics capped off improbable comeback as the Oilers rallied from a three-goal deficit in the first period to defeat the Panthers, 5-4, in overtime.
It marked Draisaitl’s fourth overtime game-winner this postseason and his second such moment in the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals.
Draisaitl finished with one goal and two assists.
After Stuart Skinner imploded in the first period, head coach Kris Knoblauch made the switch to Calvin Pickard for the second straight game, and it was a game-changer. Pickard recorded 22 saves on 23 shots, including 10 saves in a crucial middle frame.
It has not been announced whether Pickard will earn the start for Game 5. He is 7-0 in the Stanley Cup playoffs this season. Pickard was lights out before suffering an injury in the second round. If he takes the net, Florida will need to adjust to a much different goaltender in size, style and unpredictability.
Corey Perry, a seven-time participant of the Stanley Cup Finals, rallied the group during intermission. The rest is history.
The offense came to life as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins found the net. Darnell Nurse followed suit, setting up Vasily Podkolzin’s equalizer with just over five minutes left in the second period.
McDavid has not scored a goal this series, but don’t let those numbers fool you. He has six assists and is averaging two points per game on home ice, clearing the line seven of his last nine games at Rogers Place. He is due for a goal, tallying 17 shots on goal.
Nugent-Hopkins has 14 assists in his last 17 games, including eight on home ice. Mattias Ekholm tallied two assists in Game 4.
With seven minutes left in the third period, Jake Walman nabbed what could have been the game-winning goal in regulation for Edmonton, but Florida’s Sam Reinhart brought it back even at 4-4 with a stunner at just 20 seconds left.
That set up Draisaitl’s latest Superman moment.
It was the third game of the series that required extra hockey and the fourth overtime period overall of the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals. It was also the sixth time in the last seven meetings that a game between the two teams came down to one goal.

The Panthers rode a rollercoaster of emotions, blowing a 3-0 lead and then forcing overtime with Reinhart’s last-second goal.
Florida came out firing in the first period, burying two goals from Matthew Tkachuk and one in the final minute of the frame from Anton Lundell. The Panthers took advantage on multiple penalties from Edmonton as it appeared they were carrying over their unraveling from Game 3.
Three of Florida’s four goals in Game 4 came off the power play. Self-inflicted wounds for the Oilers that were shored up as the game unfolded.
Panthers’ goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was lit up in the second period. He has made 30 or more saves in every game this series. But even his brilliance has been unable to contain Edmonton’s ability to pepper the net.
After some of the most intense and riveting hockey in recent years, it comes down to a best-of-three series for the Stanley Cup. Rogers Place will be roaring.
