McDavid got off his Stanley Cup schneid in Game 5, scoring a consolation goal in the third period when the Oilers were already down and out. There is no margin for error in Game 6, and if anyone can help drag them off the mat, it’s their venerated captain. He’s part of the reason I back the visitors in my Oilers vs. Panthers prediction.
Maybe that goal in Game 5 represents the water that broke the dam. He’s also one of the only Oilers, along with Leon Draisaitl, who can conjure a moment of magic from nothing.
