OILERS VS KINGS PREDICTION, PICKS & BEST BETS FOR TONIGHT'S NHL PLAYOFFS GAME 2 – Covers.com

Four points from McDavid weren't enough to get the job done in Game 1, but you can expect another masterclass from the Oilers captain in Game 2.

The Edmonton Oilers will look to bounce back from a series opener loss to the Los Angeles Kings as they meet tonight for Game 2 at Crypto.com Arena.
Despite the defeat, Connor McDavid dominated Game 1, and my Oilers vs. Kings predictions expect him to make his presence felt again here.
Read more in my NHL picks for Wednesday, April 23.
This is the fourth consecutive season these two squads have met in the first round of the playoffs, with the Edmonton Oilers winning the previous three.
While Edmonton is banged up, we’re talking about last year’s Stanley Cup finalist. With Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl leading the way, they’ll make this a series, and this team knows how important it is to snatch a victory on the road before heading back to Oil Country.
It may be another nailbiter, but I fully expect the Oilers to respond in Game 2.
My Oilers pick: Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points (+120 at BET99)
McDavid had another electric season for the Oilers, finishing the campaign with 100 points, including 26 goals and 74 assists. While he missed some time towards the end of the season due to injury, the three-time Hart Trophy winner didn’t miss a beat when he did return.
Since coming back from injury, he has 13 points in just five contests. McDavid scored and tallied three assists in Monday’s loss to Los Angeles, doing all he could to help his team come out victorious. The superstar has cashed the Over in points in four of his last five appearances as well.
McDavid is the leader of this Edmonton group, and he always steps it up in the playoffs. We saw how well he played en route to a Cup appearance last June.
He’ll get in on the action in Game 2. At +120 odds, this bet is a no-brainer.

Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points

Leon Draisaitl Over 2.5 shots

Kevin Fiala Over 2.5 shots
Draisaitl was the main man for the Oilers in 2024-25, winning the Rocket Richard Trophy and possibly the Hart, although his injury problems towards the end of the campaign may hurt his case for the award.
The German averages 3.38 shots per game, and he was busy in Game 1 with four shots on target. He’s cashed the Over in shots on net in three of his last five, but Draisaitl didn’t play much this month until the series opener.
Regardless, he’s always a dangerous weapon offensively and never has a problem creating changes. He’ll hit the Over again.
As for Kevin Fiala, he averaged 3.01 shots in the regular season and ranked third on the Los Angeles Kings in points with 60. His 35 goals were tied with Adrian Kempe for the team lead.
Fiala managed six shots on goal in Game 1, and he’s surpassed his total in five of six outings.
