We open up NHL predictions with our featured game between the Oilers and the Capitals. The embattled Stuart Skinner is the projected starter for Edmonton. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Oilers are 4-4-2 in the last 10 games, and that includes a loss to the Buffalo Sabres in the previous game. Connor McDavid leads the team in assists (21) and points (30), while Leon Draisaitl is first in goals with 13.
Washington is expected to give Logan Thompson the start in goal. The Capitals are 3-5-2 in the last 10 games, but did get a victory in their last outing. Both Washington and Edmonton have been inconsistent at the start of the campaign. Tom Wilson is first on the club in goals (9) and points (18).
Edmonton has struggled to keep the puck out of the net, while Washington has been better defensively.
Prediction: Capitals win 4-2.
