We’ve got Game 4 in our sights in this round of NHL predictions. Florida has a chance to take a giant step towards repeating as Stanley Cup champion. The Panthers rolled to a 6-1 victory over the Oilers in Game 3. Things got chippy at the end of the game and that bad blood could spill over into Game 4.
Edmonton knows that it has come out better or it will face a large hill to climb. The Oilers did rally from an 0-3 hole in last season’s Final. However, doing it again could be a tough task.
Let’s take a look at the stats, storylines and matchups going into this all-important Game 4 in our NHL predictions.
It was a night to forget for the Oilers in Game 4. Corey Perry‘s goal early in the second period gave Edmonton some life in Game 3. However, the wheels fell off and the Oilers were run out of the rink.
Stuart Skinner is slated to get the start, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The calls for Calvin Pickard to get the call could grow louder if Skinner falters again.
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are going to need to step up as they’re feeling the pressure. However, they’ll need the rest of the depth in the lineup to also get going.
Game 3 was one of the best that the Panthers played all post-season. Florida was up 2-1 with 1:40 into the second period, but it rattled off four straight goals to put the game away.
Sergei Bobrovsky made 32 saves and has been solid in the first three games of the series. He made 40-plus saves in the first two games and was strong again in Game 3.
Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Reinhart each recorded a goal and an assist in Game 3. However, the Panthers have been able to get scoring from various sources during the entire post-season.
Edmonton is going to come out firing in the first part of this game. The Oilers are going to have to play tough, but can’t get lured into having a rock fight with the Panthers.
However, Florida is good at getting teams to play their game. The home crowd and physical play should carry them to a 3-1 series lead.
Prediction: Panthers win 5-3.
We round out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. The over/under for this game is 6.5 and we like the over in this one like the first three games.
As for individual props, take Evan Bouchard to get a power-play point for the Oilers. On the Panthers side, take Brad Marchand to net a goal in this game.
