P3 0:00 – Panthers 3, Blackhawks
The Florida Panthers hold on to win their season opener over the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks made things interesting in the final minute, pulling Spencer Knight to try and tie with an extra attacker.
But Sergei Bobrovsky was strong in between the pipes and the Panthers found a way to win.
Great start to the season for the two-time defending champions on banner night.
P3 1:52 – Panthers 3, Blackhawks 2
Another scintillating save from Spencer Knight. Sam Reinhart fires a blazing shot but Knight denies it with a stick save.
Florida leads by one.

Brad Marchand wants to get on the score sheet. What a burst of speed into the attacking zone, cutting into the middle of the ice before firing a shot.
Spencer Knight says, ”Not now!”
The Blackhawks goalie stops the puck with a glove save. Still a one-goal lead for the Panthers with four minutes to go.

Wow! What an opportunity for the Panthers to take a two-goal lead. Carter Verhaeghe goes forehand-backhand to the net but is unable to get a shot off. Nice defense from Wyatt Kaiser to break that play up on the backcheck.
Still a one-goal lead for Florida with eight minutes to go.

P3 10:20 – Panthers 3, Blackhawks 2
A perfectly executed breakout into the attacking zone for the Florida Panthers. An amazing cross zone pass from Mackie Samoskevich to Jesper Boqvist, who deflects the midair puck into the net past Spencer Knight.
Florida takes the lead almost halfway through the third period. Can they hold on?

P3 20:00 – Blackhawks 2, Panthers 2
We're underway with the third period with the score tied.
Below are some of your thoughts on an entertaining second period between the Florida Panthers and Chicago Blackhawks:
Quiet first two periods for Donato and Burakovsky. Blashill starts shaking up the lines late in the second period. We'll see if that continues. The Panthers have a 10-0 shot attempt advantage with Donato on the ice in 5v5.
Sam Rinzel has played a game-high 16:19 of ice time through two periods.

Sergei Bobrovsky kept this game tied with a lunging effort on this one-timer …
Not bad a 37-year-old goaltender.
Blackhawks played a much better in the second period. At 5-on-5, they had a 17-13 advantage in shot attempts and it was 9-9 in shots on goal. Levshunov looked more comfortable that period.
