The Ducks had a busy offseason, bringing in another former Ranger, Chris Kreider. Kreider joins former teammate Jacob Trouba in Anaheim. The Ducks made Jackson Lacombe the highest-paid player in franchise history with his 8-year / $72 million extension as the Ducks continue to try to lock up their young core. Bennett Sennecke has made the opening night roster. Sennecke’s development plan will be similar to Leo Carlsson’s to bring him along slowly to get him acclimated to the NHL game while trying to minimize the growing pains.
The Kraken host the Ducks in the 2025-26 home opener. Seattle is hopeful that Brandon Montour will be able to play and appears to be a game-time decision for Head Coach Lane Lambert. The Kraken were 18-18-5 on home ice a year ago and finished four points behind Anaheim for sixth in the Pacific Division.

The Ducks had five 20 goal scorers a year ago, and potentially have two breakout candidates in Mason McTavish and Leo Carlsson. The 22 and 20-year-olds, respectively, lead an extremely talented young core group that should have Ducks’ fans excited for the future.
Seattle hopes the addition of Mason Marchment from Dallas and the continued development of Matty Beniers and Shane Wright will help bolster a Kraken offense that was in the middle of the pack a year ago. Marchment adds size and back-to-back 20+ goal seasons to add to the Kraken’s scoring depth.
