Hunter Skoczylas breaks down his favorite NHL player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s NHL slate.
We have an 11-game NHL slate tonight on DraftKings. There’s only one major rest advantage to worry about –– the Kings, who played against the Predators last night and made an overnight trip to Minnesota to face the Wild tonight. I’ll be focusing strictly on player prop bets for tonight’s slate. Here are my top choices available on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Auston Matthews will miss tonight’s game with an upper-body injury. I’m not sure that Nylander will necessarily move up to the first line to play alongside Matthew Knies and Mitch Marner (likely Max Domi) but he has stepped up in previous games when Matthews was unable to play. Nylander has totaled 16 goals and 23 assists in 41 career games without Matthews. He has also netted a goal in nine of the last 12 games, including in four straight games –– all without Matthews in the lineup.
Boston hasn’t been its usual self, either. Jeremy Swayman got paid this offseason and essentially forgot how to be an elite goaltender, allowing 3.16 goals per game to go along with a career-low .895 save percentage. Nylander has already found the back of the net nine times this season, which leads the team, and has scored in four of six home games thus far. Toronto has not found much success versus Boston in previous meetings but this feels like a great spot to change that, and Nylander will lead the way.
Normally, I’d stay away from trusting a guy on the third line to secure a point but I’m a Sabres fan and have watched this team play with absolutely no heart for the majority of the season –– besides Zucker. Buffalo signed the veteran this past offseason to bring in some experience and he has made an immediate impact. He ranks third on the team in points (9) and is tied for the most assists (6), and should be able to secure another point in an expected high-scoring matchup.
This is quite the rivalry at this point and these teams always play each other tough, with eight of the last 10 meetings featuring at least five goals. Linus Ullmark has boosted Ottawa’s goaltending so far this season allowing just 2.62 goals per game and as inconsistent as Buffalo can be on offense, it should still be able to light the lamp multiple times tonight. Zucker also plays with the first power play unit and has netted two power play goals this season, a potential area to exploit considering the Senators deploy a middling penalty kill unit (77.4%). Additionally, Zucker has totaled at least one point in five straight home games and in five of seven home games this season.
Considering how consistent Rossi has been playing alongside Kirill Kaprizov and Mats Zuccarello, why in the world is this plus odds? The Kings just played last night and will be operating on zero rest. The Wild are on fire offensively, ranking seventh in goals per game (3.73) and sixth in expected goal percentage (53.06%) –– I’ll take my chances with Rossi securing another point at home.
Besides, Rossi has been excellent to start the season. He ranks fourth on the team in points (10) and has secured at least one point in nine of 11 games so far this season. It helps when you share a line with Kaprizov, who has showcased both his sniping and playmaking abilities in a big way this season, totaling 21 points (7 goals and 14 assists) in 11 games. Regardless of who Los Angeles starts in between the pipes tonight, Minnesota’s offense likely isn’t slowing down anytime soon and Rossi hopefully joins in on the festivities for a fourth straight game.
