My NHL anytime goal scorer predictions today target players who I think are due to light the lamp, whether that be bucking slow starts or finally delivering off their high volume of shots.
Four forwards feature in my NHL picks, including a pair of Williams. Let’s dive in.
NHL player prop odds subject to change.
My play of the day is J.T. Miller to score against the Edmonton Oilers.
Our NHL player prop odds tool shows the best odds for every market across legal sportsbooks in your area.
Maple Leafs star William Nylander hasn’t been involved enough offensively so far this season and was even called out by his coach over the weekend, with Craig Berube saying “we do need more out of him” after a loss to the Red Wings.
He has just three shots on goal through three games, though I expect he will be more aggressive tonight at home against the Predators following Berube’s call to action.
DraftKings has the best odds among the best sports betting sites, where a $10 bet would win $14.50 at an implied probability of 40.82%. This is only a three-star play given the price, but I feel confident about Nylander shaking off the cobwebs tonight.
I’m anticipating a high-scoring game between the Rangers and Oilers at Madison Square Garden. Miller will be looking to help a New York attack trying to find consistency.
The Rangers captain is putting shots on goal at a high clip (25% shooting percentage) and is facing a goalie he knows well. Miller has two career goals against expected Oilers starter Stuart Skinner from his time with the Vancouver Canucks.
Miller’s +290 odds translate to an implied probability of 25.64%, with a successful $10 wager bringing home $29.
Jackson Blake leads the Canes in shots on goal (11) but has yet to make good on that volume. Back the 22-year-old to break through for his first of the campaign against the lowly Sharks.
Though the Sharks have played just two games so far, they’ve gotten worked defensively, giving up 11 goals between those two defeats. Expected starter Yaroslav Askarov is largely unproven, but what we have seen from him at the pro level hasn’t been good (3.27 GAA, .841 SV%).
Head to FanDuel for the best odds on a Blake anytime goal at +280, which carry an implied probability of 26.32%. A winning $10 bet would bring home a $28 profit.

The Flames have given up an average of four goals across their first three games and now welcome one of the league’s best offenses to town. I had to target a Golden Knight tonight, and I elected to go with William Karlsson.
He has yet to find twine this season after missing nearly 30 games in 2024-25, but he ranks fourth on Vegas in shots on goal (9). The Golden Knights have been overly reliant on their power play, though I expect them to be much better at five-on-five against Calgary, particularly the second line of Karlsson, Mark Stone, and Reilly Smith.
FanDuel’s odds on Karlsson to score are a whopping +430 (18.87%). A $10 bet would win $43.
