The New York Rangers face off against the Florida Panthers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 8:00 PM ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN+, SN, TVAS, and CBC.
The Rangers currently lead the series 2-1 after winning two consecutive overtime games. The Panthers opened as -162 moneyline favorites, with the Rangers at +135 underdogs. The over/under is set at 5.5 goals.
Here is our Rangers vs Florida Panthers prediction for Game 4, along with player prop picks and betting odds.
The Rangers have taken a 2-1 series lead over the Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final, but the Cats are far from out of it. In fact, if a few bounces had gone their way, they could easily be the ones with the series lead right now.
The Panthers dominated Game 3 in most statistical categories, but costly defensive mistakes and subpar goaltending from Sergei Bobrovsky proved to be their undoing in a 5-4 overtime loss. Despite outshooting the Rangers 37-23 and scoring twice on the power play, Florida gave up five goals for the third time this postseason.

But there’s reason for optimism heading into Game 4 on home ice. The Panthers have largely outplayed the Rangers at 5-on-5, and their prodigious offense should start converting on more of their chances. Carter Verhaeghe and Matthew Tkachuk have been constant threats, combining for three goals and six assists in the series.
Despite being outshot and outplayed for significant stretches of the series, the Rangers have managed to steal two overtime wins thanks to the heroics of goaltender Igor Shesterkin. The Vezina Trophy winner has been the backbone of the team, posting a .925 save percentage in the playoffs and bailing out his team time and time again.
But I’m backing the Panthers to even the series on Tuesday night. They’ve been knocking on the door and should be able to break through against a Rangers team that’s been riding its luck. Bobrovsky tends to bounce back well, as the Cats are 4-0 in their last four games after giving up 5+ goals in their previous contest.
Game 4 Picks:
NHL Betting Sites & Apps For 2024
The oddsmakers have set the Panthers as -162 moneyline favorites for Game 4, with some shops going as low as -176. This implies a 61.8% probability of a Panthers victory. The Rangers, as the underdogs, have a moneyline of +135, indicating a 42.6% chance of winning.
The odds reflect the Panthers’ strong underlying numbers and the belief that they’re due for a better result. Despite trailing in the series, the Panthers have controlled 55.35% of expected goals at 5-on-5 and have been let down by a low shooting percentage.
The total of 5.5 goals feels a bit low considering these teams just combined for nine goals in Game 3, but the under is still carrying the higher vig across the board. At plus money, the over is worth a look, as both teams’ offenses should start connecting at a higher rate.

In the Rangers vs Panthers player props market, two Florida players, Sam Reinhart (+120) and Carter Verhaeghe (+150) have the best odds to light the lamp. Igor Shesterkin has the highest save prop of the two goalies at 29.5.
We’re looking to target Shesterkin in the NHL player props market, as we expect it will be another busy night for the Rangers netminder. The Panthers have averaged over 30 shots on goal in their last five home games and will likely fire plenty of rubber as they aim to avoid a 3-1 series deficit.
