New Jersey Devils vs. Anaheim Ducks: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props – news.bet365.com

The New Jersey Devils and Anaheim Ducks close out Sunday in the NHL with an intra-conference battle at Honda Center in Anaheim.
This is the second-straight home game for Anaheim, and fourth of a four-game road trip for New Jersey. In what is their first of two matchups this season, they will each be looking to add to a winning record.
New Jersey has returned to the win column after two embarrassing losses on the road that resulted in 13 goals against, while Anaheim will be hoping to extend their two-game winning streak.
This has been an incredible start for the New Jersey Devils this season. At 9-3-0, they sit first in the Metropolitan Division, and tied for first in the entire NHL.
They are tied in scoring at the NHL’s best rate (3.75 per game), are a close second in powerplay percentage of 32.3% and also have a very strong penalty kill of 86%, which is eighth-best.
The Devils’ roster is stacked with a long list of elite talent, many of whom are near or at a point per game average.
Jake Allen will be in the crease for New Jersey, who has posted excellent numbers as a backup to Jacob Markstrom, who has just returned from injury.
There are still areas on the defensive side for this team to work on, but this is a great matchup for them that they look poised to win despite being on the road for the fourth consecutive time.
After two-straight seasons of injury issues, Jack Hughes is fully healthy and is looking completely dominant. Hughes leads his team in goals (nine), points (15), and is tied for second in the NHL in goals.
His .750 goals per game average is elite, and while it may not remain for the entire season, he has really been lighting the lamp and will be a major threat every game.
Hughes has not scored in his most recent two games, which may not seem like a major timeframe, but for a player of his calibre he could be seen as due.
Anaheim are struggling defensively, as they have a very poor goals against average of 3.30 goals, which is seventh-worst in the entire NHL.
No matter what Anaheim does to try and stop Hughes, he is just one of those players where he can dictate what happens in a game and he should be able to have a major impact again.
Timo Meier is an important part to this extremely-stacked Devils forward group, but he has been cold of late. The 29-year-old has just four assists in his last seven games, which is below his standards and expectations, especially in the goal category.
Meier currently has the fourth-most points on the team, with nine in 12 games, and he may be due to add to his tally after failing to generate any points in his last two games.
With Anaheim frantically trying to stop the likes of Jack and Luke Hughes, Jesper Bratt, and others, Meier could be able to really step up and be a force in this game.
