The New Jersey Devils wrap up an almost weeklong road trip when they visit Rogers Place in Edmonton on Monday evening.
The matchup with the Oilers will start at 8:30 p.m. ET and you can watch it on the NHL Network or live-stream it on ESPN+, fubo TV (add-on, FREE trial), Sling TV (add-on, discount) or DirecTV Stream, (add-on, FREE trial and discount).
Both teams have played pretty well in the first month of the season, with New Jersey (7-5-1) tied for second in the Metropolitan Division, a point behind the Rangers, and Edmonton (6-5-1) tied for third in the Pacific Division with Vancouver.
The Oilers have been without Connor McDavid, who is expected back in the Oilers' lineup later this month as he rehabilitates from an ankle injury.
Even without McDavid, they have strung together wins in four of their last five games.
Leon Draisaitl had a goal and two assists, and Zach Hyman, Jeff Skinner and Mattias Janmark, with an empty-netter, also scored in a 4-2 win over Calgary on Sunday.
Edmonton goaltender Stuart Skinner stopped 29 shots in the win.
Draisaitl has been a force on offense, with nine goals and seven assists this season. McDavid sits second on the scoring list with 10 points and Mattias Ekholm is third with nine points. Draisaitl has averaged a point per game in 56 career games without McDavid since the latter was drafted first overall by Edmonton in 2015.
Skinner has started between the pipes in eight games for the Oilers. His record is 3-4-0-1 and his goals-against-average is 3.31. Calvin Pickard has four starts (3-1, 2.48 GAA).
New Jersey got off to a 5-2 start but has been stumbling lately, dropping five of its last seven including two in overtime.
They began the trip last Wednesday with a 6-0 win over Vancouver before losing at Calgary by a 3-0 score on Friday.
The Devils will be without fourth-line winger Nathan Bastian, out for several weeks with a jaw injury he suffered in their loss to the Flames on Friday. This comes less than a week after Bastian’s line-mate center Curtis Lazar underwent surgery on his left knee.
Enforcer Kurtis MacDermid practiced in Bastian’s place on Sunday and will likely be in the lineup for tonight’s game.

Nico Hischier leads the Devils with 10 goals and five assists, followed by Jesper Bratt (2 goals, 11 assists). Paul Cotter is second on the team in goals scored with six.
Jacob Markstrom has started 10 of the 14 games between the pipes, accumulating a 5-4-0-1 record and a 2.62 GAA.
