
Leighana Murray scored the decisive goal for Brick Township in the fourth quarter, assisted by Lindsay Giovine, to secure a 3-2 victory over Pinelands in Tuckerton.
Emma Myklebust opened the scoring for Brick Township in the first quarter with an assist from Avery Boss-Ramme. Alexandria Worthley quickly responded for Pinelands, tying the game at 1-1 by the end of the first quarter.
After a scoreless second quarter, Madison Lacerda put Brick Township back in front in the third. However, Sienna Hurrell once again leveled the score for Pinelands, making it 2-2 heading into the final quarter.
Brick Township goalies Addison Gerhard and Casey Salvatore combined for 5 saves, while Rebecca Griffiths made an impressive 15 saves for Pinelands in the losing effort.
Brick Township’s offensive pressure was a key factor, outshooting Pinelands 18-6 and earning 10 penalty corners compared to Pinelands’ 8.
