The Toronto Maple Leafs take Game 3 in overtime 3-2 over the Ottawa Senators. Simon Benoit scored the game winner. It’s Toronto’s second consecutive game won in OT.
After being down 1-0, the Toronto Maple Leafs scored two consecutive goals, courtesy of Knies and Auston Matthews. But Brady Tkachuk got the equalizer in the third period, guiding this game to overtime before Benoit sealed the victory.
The Leafs take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Toronto can advance to the second round on Saturday night in Game 4.
Simon Benoit just had one goal in 78 regular-season games in 2024-25. Entering tonight, he played nine career playoff games with zero goals.
That changes tonight with the OT winner. Benoit is emerging as the unlikely playoff hero.

Brady Tkachuk will look back at that tying goal as a career highlight for sure. A game-tying goal in a Stanley Cup playoff game as he’s playing through pain while in front of his own fans. We’ve all been wondering how healthy he’s been all game. And then he does that. 2-2.
Here come the ‘Brady’ chants. This game is a Battle of Ontario classic no matter how this ends.

Massive save from Linus Ullmark on Steven Lorentz to make this a one-goal game. Toronto is starting to play more of this game in the attacking zone.
