The Toronto Maple Leafs take a commanding 2-0 series after winning Game 2 in OT 3-2 over the Ottawa Senators. Max Domi scored the OT winner to give the Maple Leafs a critical win.
Toronto was up 2-0 after the first period. But Ottawa came back thanks to goals from Brady Tkachuk and Adam Gaudette.
For the first time since 2002, the Maple Leafs have a 2-0 series lead. The series shifts to Ottawa as the Senators attempt to come back from 2-0 down.
Game 3 is Thursday.
Despite the Toronto Maple Leafs being up 2-0 and the excitement around Max Domi's OT winner, the games will continue to get more difficult. Mitch Marner, who had one assist tonight, understands that.
"It's going to get even harder," Marner said postgame.

John Tavares scored the series winner in overtime back in 2023 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He knows the feeling of scoring in overtime. So the Leafs forward was complimentary of Max Domi getting his opportunity to be the OT hero.
"Unreal," Tavares said postgame. "Great for him, great for our team…Winning in overtime is always a great feeling."

Brady Tkachuk doesn't seem worried despite the Ottawa Senators being down 2-0 in the series.
"There's not one ounce of panic in this locker room," Tkachuk said. "Things happen, sometimes you're not going to get the bounces. Move onto the next game."

Max Domi's dad, Tie, played for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He competed in the Battle of Ontario against the Ottawa Senators back in the early 2000s.

Max Domi, the OT winner in Game 2, praised his team for getting the win tonight in Game 2. He credited Simon Benoit for the pass that set him up for the OT winner.
“Doesn’t matter who gets the goal, we got the win," Domi said. "Go north, keep it simple!”
As for the team he faced, Domi was complimentary of the Senators.
‘That’s playoff hockey. They’re a great team," Domi said. "They gave us all we can handle. Once it gets to OT anything can happen. Great win, onto the next one."
