The Western Conference series between the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche will switch sites on Wednesday, April 23.
Game 3 is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on ESPN and Altitude Sports. Fans looking to watch this NHL game can do so for free by using FuboTV ($25 off during the first month) or DirecTV Stream, which both offer a free trial. Sling TV doesn’t offer a free trial, but it has promotional offers available for streaming the game. In addition, you can stream ESPN+ on your phone, tablet, Smart TV or gaming console for $11.99/month or bundle with Disney+ and Hulu for just $16.99 per month.
The game will be played at Ball Arena in Denver.
The series is tied 1-1 after Dallas won Game 2 in overtime on a goal by Colin Blackwell.
Blackwell scored 17:46 into overtime after his initial shot ricocheted off teammate Sam Steel and Avs defenseman Samuel Girard in front of the net. But with the puck rolling loose on the ice, the fourth-line forward circled around and knocked it in for the winner.
The 32-year-old Blackwell, a Harvard graduate who played for Chicago the past two seasons, said he has often had to go in and out of lineups and has learned over the years to stay sharp mentally and keep working hard on and off the ice. In his first season for Dallas, he had 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) over 63 regular-season games.
“It’s been a long season, and not playing the first game, stuff like that, just kind of been in and out of the lineup toward the end here,” he told The Associated Press. “I don’t really worry about making a mistake. I just go out there and play hockey and good things happen.”
The Stars lost their first two games at home in the first round last year. Blackwell’s goal kept that from happening again.
HOW TO WATCH

All eyes on Wednesday night will be on Colorado captain Gabriel Landeskog as the series shifts to Denver.
Game 3 could be Landeskog’s first NHL action since June 26, 2022, when he and the Avalanche beat Tampa Bay to win the Stanley Cup. He has had two surgeries on a chronically injured right knee since but in recent weeks did a conditioning stint in the minors and even dressed for warmups Monday night.

Landeskog returning at home would provide an emotional boost for the team and fans.
“He brings a lot to the table when it comes to his leadership and his presence in the room and and then obviously, we’ll see how it goes on the ice,” coach Jared Bednar told The Associated Press. “He provides a lot of things that could help us in Game 3.”
